“A Perfect Devon Getaway”

I stayed at Winnards Perch in November 2009. The bed and breakfast is located in a rural area, a short drive from some of the most stunning coastal scenery in England.

I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and modern the room was when I arrived, and how warm the welcome was too. Run by a couple for whom nothing seems to be too much trouble, it's an ideal getaway from the stresses of city living. With great views from the balcony and a superb breakfast, it was a refreshing and relaxing trip.

Thankfully Winnard's Perch is not a large B&B, I think they have just two rooms at the moment, so book early or be disappointed. I have stayed in many of the bed and breakfasts in this area, this one is right at the top of the list of places to try and book.

High points of Winnards Perch:

• A quiet rural location, uninterupted views over rolling Devon countryside to the sea in the distance.
• Great breakfast: Continental or cooked breakfast to order.
• Clean, quiet bedrooms with modern bathrooms
• Balcony with views of rolling Devon countryside.
• Great location for Torcross, Salcombe, Kingsbridge, Totnes & Plymouth.
• Knowledgable hosts who know pretty much everything about the local area.
